"Ukrainian girl under the NATO Umbrella"
The sculptural composition was created for the 75th anniversary of the founding of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
Being under the NATO umbrella, each country of the Alliance and every individual have the right to defense, as when it comes to collective security, NATO's main principle is "all for one and one for all". The aspiration of our state to become a full member of the Euro-Atlantic community is the main motive behind this composition.
"Ukrainian girl under the NATO Umbrella" is conceived by the authors as a symbolic charm that should protect people's lives and their homes. The sculptural composition is made of durable stainless steel in a non-classical style, which more accurately reflects the spirit of the time, which combines the latest metal processing technologies with the author's technique of modern urban sculpture.
The installation has bas-relief layers of the city silhouette, under the cover of a
three-dimensional symbolic umbrella held by a little Ukrainian girl. In the sunlight, the shadow of an umbrella, like a camouflage net, covers the city and the child, reminding of the terrible danger of wartime and the duty of the entire civilized world to stop the aggressor, to protect the basic values of humanity.
The prototype for the sculptural composition was a nine-year-old girl from Kyiv, Yelyzaveta Kharchuk - a little but strong-spirited girl who summarizes the image of Ukrainian children who have undergone terrible trials of military aggression, but, with faith in a bright future, bravely go through all trials.

"The NATO Square" is established in honor of the 75th anniversary of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), marked by a memorial plaque bearing NATO symbolism. Adjacent to the memorial plaque stands an oak tree, symbolizing strength and longevity. The park's concept includes gradual development of the park ensemble, with participation welcomed from all embassies of NATO member countries in Ukraine.
The memorial sign in the form of a stylized information tribune with a logo and a list of alliance countries is the first art object of NATO Square. It is made of stainless steel and combines the latest metal processing technologies with the author's technique of modern urban sculpture. The tribune has translucent metal side walls made of stainless wire, through which white marble stones can be seen, symbolizing the close, transparent and reliable relationship of the alliance states.
The memorial sign initiates the aesthetics of filling the square with modern art objects and landscape elements, which will gradually turn it into a pearl of the street art space in the center of Kyiv.
