Family creative workshop of author's handcraft products
ARTBUZ is a Ukrainian family creative workshop based in Kyiv, where ideas are transformed into art objects.
Since 2002, we have been creating sculptures, art installations, original lighting, interior objects, and unconventional décor. Everything — from the first sketch and engineering concept to the production of the finished piece — is developed and made in our own workshop.
ARTBUZ is difficult to define in a single word — art, design, or production. For us, these concepts are inseparable.
One of ARTBUZ’s key strengths is our own production facility and extensive experience working with a wide range of materials and technologies.
We work with steel and aluminium, wood, acrylic, PVC, textiles, and other materials, using metalworking, welding, laser cutting, printing, lighting technologies, and handcrafting. This gives us tremendous creative freedom, because our most interesting works are born at the intersection of art, engineering, and craftsmanship.
We are fascinated by lightness, transformation, movement, light, experimentation with scale, and unexpected combinations of different technologies.
This approach has given rise to our signature collections “Lighter Than Air,” “Glowing Dolls,” “Glowing Garden,” the sculptural series “Circle of Time,” “Naive Ark,” and many other projects.
For us, an unusual form alone is never enough. We strive to create objects with character — pieces that evoke emotion, carry a philosophical meaning, while remaining functional and living naturally within a space.
ARTBUZ works can be found in several national museums of Ukraine, as well as in private interiors, galleries, and collections around the world.
For many years, our workshop has represented contemporary Ukrainian art and product design at professional exhibitions and competitions both in Ukraine and internationally.
Between 2022 and 2024 alone, ARTBUZ was presented in Poznań, Warsaw, Barcelona, The Hague, Cologne, London, and New York, including at Meble Polska, Warsaw Home, IMM Cologne, Boutique Design New York, London Design Fair, London Build Expo, Grand Designs Live London, and the Independent Hotel Show London.
It is especially important to us that after the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, our workshop remained in Kyiv and continued working.
We continue to design, produce, and ship our works around the world. For us, this is more than just our work — it is an opportunity to show that contemporary Ukrainian art and design are alive, evolving, and still capable of surprising and inspiring people.
Most of our original designs are protected by copyright registrations.
We are open to impossible ideas.
Alongside our own collections, ARTBUZ develops custom art objects and unconventional bespoke solutions for private interiors, designers, architects, hotels, restaurants, galleries, exhibitions, and public spaces.
We imagine. We design. We make. And we are never afraid to experiment.

Our Team

Oleksii Shevchuk
Founder, Creator.
Oleksii Shevchuk (born 1962) is an architect, artist, and sculptor with a broad vision who is in constant creative exploration. He has frequently participated in international architecture and design competitions and is the recipient of numerous Grand Prix awards, including diplomas from world-renowned figures like Hans Hollein and Karim Rashid.
His paintings, sculptures, and art installations have been showcased multiple times in national museums of Ukraine and international exhibitions in New York, London, Cologne, Warsaw, Poznan, and Vienna. They also grace private collections of contemporary art enthusiasts around the world.
The synthesis of various art forms—painting, sculpture, poetry, and scenographic effects—enables the artist to fully realize his narratives. Combining a wide spectrum of materials and techniques allows him to delve into the paradoxes of simple natural things, to see the great in the small, and in the naive—the mirror reflection of complex universal interconnections.
From a philosophical perspective, through the prism of allegorical thoughts, self-ironic views, and personal experiences, the artist strives to understand the meaning of life and the purpose of a person who seeks knowledge.
In 2002, Oleksii founded the «ARTBUZ» creative workshop, whose motto is:
«IN LIGHT WE TRUST!»
